Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Francis Mercier is more than a DJ/producer—he’s the founder of Deep Root Records and a cultural bridge builder in the global house scene. His sound blends Afro house, melodic house, and emotive deep textures—fusing percussive vitality with lyrical melodicism.

Mercier has called on influences from across the diaspora and nurtured authenticity at the heart of his art. In 2015, he co-founded Deep Root with Ajamu Kambon, aiming to create a musical collective and label that uplifts emerging voices in house and Afro house.

“The Breakthrough Track” & Seminal Releases
One of his most influential works is “Sete”, released in 2022. That track fused a sample from Malian duo Amadou & Mariam with sleek Afro-house production, earning Mercier chart success on Beatport and international starts on Spotify and Shazam.  He also released “Kamili” in 2023 (co-produced with Nitefreak), singing in Swahili and delving deep into personal themes of loss and resilience. Another deeply personal track is “Ayibobo”, featuring Haitian Creole vocals and a message of hope for his native Haiti, weaving social context with musical identity.

His discography spans labels such as Deep Root, Spinnin’, Armada, Subliminal, Insomniac, and more, with major support from electronic heavyweights and global radio playlists.
