Vagalume Tulum Is Currently Closed

Vagalume Tulum is currently closed. There is no confirmed reopening date, and the venue has not confirmed whether it will return. Before closing, it operated as a beach club, restaurant and electronic music venue on Tulum Beach. Daybeds, a beachfront pool and food service shaped the daytime format. After sunset, the open-air space shifted toward dinner, DJs and dancing on the sand.

The venue stood around Km 7.6 on Carretera Tulum–Boca Paila in the Hotel Zone. Its layout included natural wood structures, a sand dance floor and a giant hand sculpture used as a bridge. The pool and hand bridge gave the venue a look that was easy to recognize in photos. Guests could spend the day on a lounger, stay for dinner and move into the evening programme without changing locations.

Electronic Music on an Open-Air Sand Dance Floor

Before the closure, the music programme covered deep house, tech house, melodic techno, indie dance and progressive electronic music. Recurring concepts included Sinner, Sundaze, Ten Ibiza, The Soundgarden and Summerians. VITE and MIGANOVA created the Sinner residency, while RENÊ, Negrinm and Miul also appeared as resident artists. Past headliners included Hernán Cattáneo, Âme DJ, ARTBAT, Guy Gerber, Lee Burridge, Steve Lawler and Deep Dish.

Mexican Seafood, Lobster Quesadilla and Grilled Catch

The kitchen combined Mexican flavours with Caribbean, Mediterranean, pre-Hispanic and Spanish influences. The lobster quesadilla cost 760 MXN and paired butter-poached lobster with Gouda, green apple pico de gallo, macha sauce and avocado purée in a handmade tortilla. Grilled adobo octopus was 690 MXN, while grilled catch of the day was 1,350 MXN. Tuna tiradito, green shrimp aguachile and soft-shell crab risotto each cost 490 MXN. A 400-gram prime ribeye was 1,950 MXN.

Plant-based choices included rustic guacamole for 320 MXN, a grains salad for 350 MXN and a vegan burger for 490 MXN. Truffle-dip fries were 290 MXN, while New York strip and bone marrow tacos cost 460 MXN. Desserts ranged from a 170 MXN vegan Magnum to a 490 MXN citrus cheesecake. Choco Temptation was 410 MXN, Banana Monkey was 390 MXN and the tropical fruit selection was 290 MXN. These dishes and prices applied before the closure.

Sunbed Minimums, Dinner Spend and Event Tickets

Before the venue closed, a sunbed carried a minimum consumption of 1,500 MXN per person. The same 1,500 MXN per-person minimum applied to dinner. Event tickets started at 605 MXN, with the final amount set by the programme. Bottle-service and VIP-table minimums varied by event rather than following one fixed price. These costs placed a typical visit in the high-end range among Tulum beach clubs.

The regular schedule showed Monday as closed and Tuesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 1 AM. Daytime beach service generally ran from 11 AM to 6 PM, followed by dinner and evening events from 7 PM. Special programmes could begin at noon, 1 PM, 3 PM or 7 PM. The venue used different entry prices, dress requirements and table terms for individual events.
