Zamna has confirmed Black Coffee’s return to Tulum on January 11, 2026—a prime, end-of-run slot that traditionally delivers the season’s emotional peak. It follows his standout Madrid appearance with the Zamna team and sets the stage for a finale that blends intimacy with scale in the cenote amphitheater.

Born Nkosinathi Maphumulo in Umlazi, Black Coffee reshaped house music by infusing it with South African rhythm, subtle vocal hooks, and patient, hypnotic pacing. His journey—surviving a 1990 accident that left his left arm impaired—has become part of the legend: a study in focus and finesse behind the decks. In 2022 he won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Subconsciously, a record that connected club poise to global pop sensibilities via collaborations with Pharrell, David Guetta, Diplo, Sabrina Claudio and more.

Coffee sold out Madison Square Garden in 2023 (a first for a South African artist), deepened his long-running Hï Ibiza residency into its 7th season in 2025, and co-produced on Drake’s dance album Honestly, Nevermind—proof of a sound that travels from underground to mainstream without losing identity. Expect sculpted Afro-house and Afro-tech: warm percussion, resolute kick drums, and vocals teased for maximum release.

Coffee’s Tulum story runs through Zamna: the Jan 6, 2020 showcase (with BLOND:ISH, Salomé, THEMBA b2b DJ Angelo) and a 2023 headliner whose minimal, high-spec lighting rig underscored his less-is-more philosophy. These nights cemented the chemistry between Coffee’s pacing and Zamna’s open-air acoustics—music that breathes in the jungle.

If you’re new to his catalog, start with the slow-burn elegance of “Drive” (with David Guetta & Delilah Montagu), then dip into Subconsciously highlights like “SBCNCSLY” (w/ Sabrina Claudio) and “10 Missed Calls” (w/ Pharrell & Jozzy). They map the modern Coffee palette: soulful, aerodynamic, and built for late-night catharsis.
